Bastrop County Wildfire Homeowners

CDBG Grants Available to Rebuild or Repair Your Home!

DEADLINE: FRIDAY FEBRUARY 22, 2103

Eligibility requirements for consideration:

• Homeowner during the fire event Aug. 30 to Dec. 31, 2011
• Primary residence during the fire event
• Home damaged as a direct result of fires
• Damaged unit was a single family residence
• Have existing unmet housing need

LSS Disaster Response has been chosen by the Texas General Land Office (GLO) as the case management firm to process applications made by residents of Bastrop County impacted by the Texas Wildfires of 2011 for recovery assistance under the Consolidated Security, Disaster Assistance, and Continuing Appropriations Act (Public Law 112-55).

Once deemed eligible, damaged dwellings will be inspected to determine whether or not the dwelling will be rehabilitated or reconstructed based on specific thresholds, or the homeowner may be referred to the Disaster Recovery Down Payment Assistance (DPA) program.

LSS Disaster Response is now processing applications for homeowners or renters in Bastrop County for the Down Payment Assistance Program.  Eligibility will be determined based on specific criteria outlined in the GLO Housing Application Intake Process (DPA) Handbook. Both the Application and the Handbook are available for download from this website.  The deadline to submit the DPA application is February 22, 2013.
